Mission Statement

Mission statement

Guinnovation exists to relieve suffering and inequalities by supporting people with the means and opportunities they need to be more productive and thrive.

Vision

Guinnovation works with communities in challenging places to maximize their potential and drive their own transformational, resilience and thriving life in the sectors of education, health, water, sanitation, and hygiene. We use a people-first approach to help address the most challenging issues these communities face including lack of education, access to water and basic health services, climate change and poverty. We partner with local government, civil society organizations, and entrepreneurs to bring innovation through education and people’s capacity with the belief that sustainable change and better life are possible.

Core values

Guinnovation believes that public health, education and citizen participation issues are the challenges of the millennium. Therefore, we have identified key core values to implement throughout the organization. Above all else we value:

Dignity: respecting the inherent value and worth of each person.
Justice: advocating for social well-being and acting in ways that promotes respect for all persons and demonstrates compassion in the face of human struggles.
Commitment: providing professional and high quality services.
Ethics: As a 501(c)(3) (tax exempt) nonprofit organization, Guinnovation depends not only on the skills, abilities and commitments of professional members, but also on their integrity and collective conviction and passion to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
Resources and results oriented: utilizing resources efficiently and focusing on measurable objectives to monitor progress and achievements.
Collaboration/inclusion: collaborating with dedicated individuals who share our core values and vision to achieve common goals.
Transparency: founded in the concept of nonprofit transparency able to provide a central foundation of information that donors can use to guide their giving decisions, without bias and self-interest/promotion.
Competency: utilizing recruitment strategies that attract board members and volunteers with diverse but relevant backgrounds, experience and organizational and financial skills necessary to advance the organization’s mission, in addition to the vigorous pursuit of ethnic, racial, and gender diversity.
Community participation: promoting community involvement to ensure the sustainability of results and expand outreach programs.

Guiding principles

Guinnovation has identified the following guiding principles that constitute the fundamental foundation of our belief:

Education and health programs are without real value unless used with a framework for advancing equity, quality, equality, sustainability, improvement, and learning leadership.
Improving the health and learning outcomes for disadvantaged people, or those affected by crises, will increase their self-esteem and general education, and thereby offer economic opportunities while expanding the aspirations and potential of children and youth around the world.
