A lifelong Minnesotan and current resident of Mendota Heights, Peg Riehm was introduced to Guinnovation by board chair Colleen Striegel, a close friend and former coworker of Peg’s late sister Julie Toner. Julie had a special love for Africa from her Peace Corps experience in Kenya and her work with the American Refugee Committee–now Alight. With extensive background in business and public administration and accounting, Peg is well qualified in her role as Guinnovation’s treasurer.
With a business administration degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Peg has over 40 years’ experience that includes managing student financial aid, law firm, construction, business planning, and church accounting. Her experience has been in payroll, accounts payable and receivable, billing, reconciliations, audit preparation, budgeting, and financial reporting. Though formally retired since 2019, she continues to manage a few small business accounts.
Peg has held volunteer positions for various cancer charity fundraisers and was chair of the finance and long-range planning committees while serving on the board at St. Joseph’s School in West St. Paul. After meeting Oury Diallo and hearing his incredible life story, Peg wanted to help in advancing Guinnovation’s mission and honor her sister’s love of Africa.
