Health

The 2013-2016 West Africa Ebola Outbreak was devastating in Guinea, where it killed 2,544 (67%) of the total number of cases according to the US CDC, because the health system was ill-prepared to provide supportive care to those infected with Ebola. Many challenges including limited personnel and lack equipment and infrastructure such as electricity continue to plague the Guinean health system in providing quality primary and emergency care.

Guinnovation mobilized Guineans living abroad to provide the Yembering health clinic electricity by installing solar panels. We plan to acquire needed medical equipment and establish community health education. Yembering can be a model for transforming lives through health education and promotion.
