Ms. Halimatou Diallo was born in Ivory Coast and grew up in Guinea. The death of her father when she was only 12 and the eldest of six children thrust her into the role as sole provider for her mother and five siblings. Having to enter the workforce put a pause on Halimatou’s education, but at the age of 20, she emigrated to the United States and pursued an associate degree in computer science from Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) in New York City. She fulfilled a further aspiration of serving in the military when she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2021. The difficulties in her youth and the resilience she developed in meeting hardships instilled in Ms. Halimatou Diallo a profound desire to help young people grappling with similar economic and educational challenges. This inspired her to join GUINNOVATION as an advisory board member and currently in the position of social media advisor, where she is responsible for assisting in managing, enhancing Guinnovation’s social media presence and engaging with the online community to raise awareness and support for Guinnovation programs.
